What is HIFU?
HIFU (High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) is a revolutionary, non-invasive treatment designed to combat skin laxity and stubborn body fat. It works by delivering precise ultrasound energy deep into the Dermis and the SMAS layer (the structural tissue targeted in surgical facelifts). Treatment
Each treatment session lasts between 30 – 90 minutes. The HI-REX utilizes focused ultrasound to create internal thermal points. You may feel a deep warming sensation or a slight tingling.. Comfort levels will depend on the person as pain tolerance levels vary between everyone, and can be adjusted to suit. If you are concerned about experiencing pain throughout the procedure, please advise us and patient-specific recommendations can be made.
Post Treatment
Slight tingling, swelling, and tenderness can be temporarily experienced and are very normal effects post-treatment. These will dissipate over the next few days, with no other post-treatment routines required.
Immediate Return to Activity: There is zero downtime. You may experience slight redness which typically subsides within hours.
Visible Progress: You may notice an initial "glow" or slight lift, but the true structural changes in the SMAS layer occur over 8–12 weeks, with results continuing to improve for up to 6 months.
Protection: Apply SPF 30+ daily and avoid extreme heat (saunas/hot yoga) for 48 hours.
Pre Treatment
We recommend using active skincare (just avoid Retinol products) to further stimulate collagen production and improve the superficial layers of the skin, which will be recommended to you during your consultation. Practicing daily sun protection and giving up smoking will also reduce premature aging and help provide better and longer lasting results. A healthy diet and exercise are recommended with body contouring for best results.
Ensure skin is well hydrated before your appointment; drink plenty of water 24 hours prior.
